The assignment of the design studio:

Design a multifunctional building which contains 5 typologlies that relates to the context and 5 typologies of temporary living. The buidling needs to be suistanable and related to how we want to live in the future.

The design:

Sea bruges was my location that is chose for my master thesis. It is a place that is well know for his port and sea. But the tourism and the place to live decreases every year. 

 

During my research  I chose to think about how we want to live and work in the future. Every year, we throw 20.000 ton of garbage in the sea. Therefore plastics became the barrier for my future workplaces.

In first authority I thaught about how to integrate the recycling of plastic and the growing of seaweed, how it could be integrated in the context of seabruges. 

​

How we could build with plastic was the second question of my thesis. This in combination with the question what the recycling of plastic could mean for a community.
