Individual work

SAS or school on a stream is an architecture school which is fully focused on designing.

The school stands on the wooden dock and was constructed in the existing tower of the original plan. The existing buildings that were standing around it were removed to create an open space . The school was then pushed backwards to create a closed square facing South West.

SAS consists out of 3 parts : the library, the public space and the design studios.

You receive a month and a half lessons from one professor. The theory will therefore be based on the practical subjects. You graduate after 30 studios. There are 3 types of design studios. The smaller studios focus on individual work. The second type or the medium-sized studios focus on group work. The third type are the big ones or the studios where their focus lies on experiments. In these studios the senses are extremely stimulated. An example of this Is a “night studio” where the tactile sense stands central.
